This will be the 6th time that I will raise funds to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk. Obviously, I believe in the cause and the research initiatives the 3 Day supports. This year, however, fundraising and walking the 60 miles is personal. In October of 2022, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection through mammography, followed by a lumpectomy and additional treatment yielded the results we had hoped for. She is cancer-free! We are acutely aware, however, that many are not so fortunate due to the lack of available screening, access to quality healthcare, and the need for further research into treatment options for particular types and stages of breast cancer. I am determined to continue to raise awareness and funds to fight this horrible and prevalent disease that has taken so much from so many. Will you help me?
