A world without breast cancer that’s why I walk 60 miles in 3 days with one goal: to end breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen events are fundraisers with the worthwhile cause to end breast cancer. I take this challenge to fund raise as well as the walking. This is personal to me: I am a survivor. It is also personal to so many, too many. This will be the tenth event I will walk, but I will need your help in the fundraising. This challenge we take together will not be easy, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It is not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan and the treatment that follows. It is not as hard as saying goodbye. That is why I know I have to continue to fund raise and walk. Together we can make a difference. Please make a donation: together we raise money to end breast cancer forever. . .Get involved by asking others to make a donation too.

Yes, in 2023, I will be putting on my sneakers again to participate my tenth 60-mile Breast Cancer 3-Day walk. I will be back in San Diego for the 3-Day event to support this cause. The 3-Day is an experience full of truly unforgettable moments.
I am very excited to announce in July 2023, with the help of my faithful donors, I have raised over $50,000 over the years for this great cause.
The more funds raised, the sooner we can end this fight. So, I ask all who have said the words "I would like to help!", please make a donation to this worthwhile cause. The money we raise funds breast cancer research, education, and community outreach programs. The 3-Day walk takes commitment. I am committed to the time and many miles needed in preparation for 60 miles in 3 days. The walking has always been the easiest part for me. I understand these are difficult economic times; however, the consequences of cancer has continues. Please give today!
Everyone who participates has their own reasons why they walk. I proudly display my life's motto on my license plate - "LFS2LV"". I walk to celebrate life for myself; this year, I will celebrate 19 years cancer-free. I walk to support my aunt and "Tiger" (alias Mom) who are also survivors, and several friends who have also fought the breast cancer battle . . . I walk for my daughter who at age 33 had her mamogram, my granddaughters, my mother, my sisters, and all of my relatives, my high school (NPHS), college (SJSU and ASU), and current friends including teacher friends, and the parents of all the children who were my students and my former students themselves. I walk in hopes that you and all these people . . . all people will never be affected by breast cancer. I walk because I can . . . I walk because I cannot walk away from a cure . . . I walk because everyone deserves a lifetime.
Early detection is key. My story started over 30 years ago . . . At thirty-two, I found my first lump, it was very small. I had unbelievable anxiety knowing I had two young children. Upon removal, it was found to be benign. A year later, the anxiety was even worse. I discovered another lump next to the location of the first. It should not have been so big being so close and undiscovered by the surgeon. To my relief, again no cancer. My surgeon encouraged me to continue my self-exams - "you never know benign or malignant." Twelve years after discovering my first lump, I found the small lump that would link me to this cause. When the doctor told me I had cancer, my heart ached for my family. I worried about my children's future. I continue to do my exams and I continue to worry (I am a worrier) about the future of my children, and now grandchildren. The affects are not just with my direct family, but I also have three sisters, their children and grandchildren. As the family branches out, so do friends who have had breast cancer. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Please make a donation today! Encourage others to make a donation. Every dollar helps.
Please make a tax-deductible donation to support my fundraising efforts as I take another amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer!
For 2023, I have met my original goal of $10,000. Help me meet my new goal. This disease touches so many lives. Let's put a stop to breast cancer . . . for you, your family, and friends. Together we will make a difference!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
