Every year that I've walked the 3-Day for the Cure, I dread the fundraising part .... I can train. I can walk. But asking people to donate? That's the hard part. And somehow, every year, y'all come through. Your generosity and continued support has taken me through 10 events, and I'm hopeful you're willing to try for 11.
Why I walk
In 2017, I became a statistic. That 1 in 8 who are diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. That diagnosis brought surgery, chemo, radiation, more surgery, and a lifetime of worry and anxiety.
When I started walking in 2011, I never dreamed I'd be walking "for myself." But here we are ... I'm walking for me. I'm walking for my daughter. I'm walking for a future where breast cancer isn't a death sentence, and maybe someday, it's not an albatross you carry around your neck.
What can you do?
Donate. I need to raise $2,300 to walk in the 3-Day for the Cure, and I couldn't do it without you.
