Betsy Zangara, Tonsa Price-Edwards, Lauren Rose Kaufman – three of the most amazing women I have ever met. Strong, brilliant, successful, funny, fearless, selfless, the first to offer to help others in need, each of them injecting sunshine into every room they enter. The other thing all three of them have in common: breast cancer.
Betsy is my badass sister-in-law. She is a survivor, celebrating five years cancer free. Tonsa, a friend with whom I have run many laps around a track over the years, is a warrior, currently fighting metastatic breast cancer. Lauren was one of my family's oldest friends. We grew up together. Breast cancer took her away from all of us far, far too soon.
Breast cancer has impacted so many people I love dearly. It is for them, and so many other women, and all of the people impacted by breast cancer, that I am joining my family and friends for the Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk in San Diego in November. We will be walking 60 miles over three days to raise money to help everyone affected by this disease.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal. Let's all help Susan G. Komen to one day end breast cancer forever.
