The wait is finally over! After all these years of just having to watch the 3-Day, 60 Mile Breast Cancer Walk, it’s now my turn to do it myself. I’ve been showing up for years watching my mom and her team, Sandee’s Walkers, walk in remembrance of my grandmother while dressed in pink and smiling for 60 miles! In August of 2024, I will take to the pavement of Boston and join my mom in something that she has always referred to as inspirational, humbling, and amazing.
My maternal grandmother, Sandee, died in 1991 when my mom was only 18 years old. From all the stories I’ve heard, Grandmom was an energetic and enthusiastic person who rooted for the Phillies and the Redskins. (I think she made a poor choice in choosing to root for the Phillies and if she were still here, I would convert her into a Yankees fan.) She battled breast cancer for a long time, but always showed strength and courage. I wish I could have met her and listened to her cheering me on from the sidelines of my soccer and baseball games. Mom always tells me about how loudly she would cheer at her kids’ games.
This walk has become an important event to my family and me. In order to participate, I need to raise $2.300. If you would like to help me reach the fundraising commitment, please click on the "Donate Now" button above.
Thank you,
Braedon
