Who knew, back in 2010, that 14 years later, I'd still be doing these breast cancer walks? Who knew the kind of progress that would be made over those 14 years in the fight to end breast cancer? Who knew I'd be more committed than ever to a world without breast cancer? Please support me as I begin my 15th year in pursuit of that goal.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. I completed the walks in both Boston and Denver in 2023 and said it was the last time I'd sign up for two walks in one year. But the Pink Bubble is what it is -- and I'm addicted. So I'm signed up to crew 2 days in Boston and then walk on the 3rd day and to complete all 3 days and 60 miles in Denver!
Since 2003, the Komen 3-Days have raised more than $889 million. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds help Susan G. Komen® support the global research program and other mission objectives, while the remaining 25 percent helps affiliates support local programs including medical assistance, patient navigation, and provider education.
The 3-Days will be hard, but not as hard as breast cancer. Not as hard as chemo. Not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. Not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking again and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
