Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Since 2003 this event has raises millions of dollars used to save lives and make huge strides in breast cancer research.
Like so many others, breast cancer is a very personal cause for me. In 2019, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in situ on a routine mammogram. I underwent a lumpectomy followed by 6 weeks of radiation and now continue on daily tamoxifen. I have been cancer free for 4 years and feel very fortunate to be healthy enough to participate in this amazing event. It gives me the chance to make a difference and to honor those touched by breast cancer.
I walk in honor of my dear Aunt Virginia and Cecelia Enos the mother of my stepchildren who both lost their courageous battle with breast cancer. I also walk in honor of my friend Regina McGowan who is a daily inspiration for me as a 23 year survivor.
Walking 60 miles will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Thank you so much for all your love and support !
