I'm not sure if I'm crazy or what, but I've signed up again. I'm doing my third SGK 3-Day walk. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days, this time in Boston. I did my first walk (2 day, 39.3 miles) over in 2008 just after my mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer. This will be my 11th walk in total, these last three after my mom passed away due to metastatic breast cancer. In that time I have known so many friends who have been diagnosed, several who lost the fight, but luckily so many are beating their cancer. I wish they didn't have to go through that fight. I don't want my nieces or nephew to have to face breast cancer, ever again. I do not want to lose another person to breast cancer.
Based on the last two years of 3-day walks, this walk take a lot of training, it will be hard and painful, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Please considering donating to my walk and help me on my quest to end breast cancer.
