15 years…it’s hard to believe. Shealie and Sarah turned Sweet 16 this year and Grace is 10. So many birthdays, celebrations, concerts and events without our mom, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend. Breast cancer didn’t just take away her chance to experience all those events, but it took it away from everyone who loved her. My mom was the heart and soul of our family. We miss her on holidays, we miss her at concerts and events,  we miss her every day.

I will be participating as a crew member in the New England 3-Day event August 18-20. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit.
