This year will mark the 100th anniversary of my mother’s birth. Unfortunately, she lost a two year battle with breast cancer at age 54. I often think about what her treatment would be today and her survival rate. Although there is no cure YET, great strides have been made in research, education and treatments. That is why I continue to raise money and walk in the Susan G Komen 3- Days.
2022 didn’t go quite as planned as I was faced with knee replacement surgery and was unable to walk long distances. I am registered to walk in the Denver 3-Day in August and have every intention of completing this event with my two new knees!
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever. I walk because I cannot walk away!
