As some of you know, my sister was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Talk about rocking our world! She endured chemo, radiation and a double mastectomy. What an amazing woman she is! Thankfully, with her strong Faith and support from Friends and Family, she made it through that experience even stronger. Then, 6 years later, she started to experience low back pain. She eventually had x-rays and found out her cancer was back. Her diagnosis is stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that metastasized to her spine and lungs. Thankfully, she is on an a medication that keeps her cancer dormant. We are so blessed that she continues to live strong 8 years later!
Please support Allison and me as we commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know we have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
