I don’t think I understood the importance of fundraising when I walked my first 60 mile walk in 2005. I did understand that I couldn’t sit idly by when my Mom had gone through radiation treatments to beat breast cancer. In 2004, you didn’t talk about breast cancer. Now we do which allows for better treatments to treat different cancers. We’ve seen the advances in treatments and the importance of educating everyone about annual mammograms (Have you scheduled yours?)
My goals are big because it takes money to fund the research to eradicate a disease. By raising money we allow more memories with our loved ones. 1 in 8 are diagnosed and that 1 person is important and worth your support.
This year marks my 29th 3 Day event. Thanks to your support I’ve raised over $281K since 2005 for the Susan G Komen 3 Day.
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard (both physically and mentally), but it's not as hard as breast cancer. It's not as hard as chemo. It's not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It's not as hard as saying goodbye. And that's why I know I have to do this. That's why I commit. That's why I'm walking and why I'm raising money - to end breast cancer forever.
Make and cherish the memories with your loved ones.
Message me and let me know the person in your life that has been impacted so that I can carry them on my walk.
Together we will find a cure and provide testing and treatments to those in need.
Pink hugs.
Rachel
