As you (or may not) know, I’ve been participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60 Mile Breast cancer walk in one way or another for the last 11 years. In 2024, I am taking on the huge goal of walking in all 4 of the scheduled cities: Dallas, Denver, New England/Boston, and San Diego, that’s 240 miles next year alone! Yes I have gone crazy. These will be my 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th time doing these walks, that's 10 times taking a 60 mile walk (add in all of my training walks and that's more than 1,000 miles I'll have walked just for the 3-Day!)
I do this for everyone who’s fighting, and everyone we’ve lost. For my grandma Marcella, my uncle Randy, my step-mom Janice, my multiple times survivor cousin who lost her 5th battle with cancer this past August, I walk for all those who have gone before me and those that will follow. We CAN see the end of breast cancer and I’ll keep walking until we do. I could not be here if it was not for each of you, my generous donors and supporters. Each of you is a member of my team as much as those that are physically walking with me. Words cannot convey how much I truly appreciate your support, you are with me with every step I take.
As I train and walk each year I pray that all those we know and love never hear those horrible words "you have breast cancer." If we find a cure to breast cancer, the others cannot be far behind, I believe this with all my heart. This walk is for my children, my mother, my father, my sisters, my brother, nieces, sisters-in law, aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers. Because I love you all, I have chosen to do my part.
Please donate if you can, and if you can't, keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Please take this opportunity to support me and advocate for the heath of women and men that are important to you and have touched your life. I'll be thinking of you every step of the way as I train and walk in the year to come.
