This year, I am dedicating the walk to my Auntie Em. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor but sadly lost her battle to lung cancer earlier this year. She was my biggest supporter and cheerleader. She always took the time to send cards, supportive text messages and just cheered me on every single year I did this walk as either a walker or a crew member. So this one is for you Auntie Em. I will miss your support, your grace and your many kindnesses.
I truly believe that if we can find the cure for one cancer, other cures will not be far behind. In my family (siblings, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins) we have breast cancer (too many to list), esophageal cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, lymphoma, pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer and skin cancer.
So please support me as I commit to another incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m crewing and why I’m raising money – to end all cancers forever.
Thank you for all you have done over the years, and if this is your first year to support me a big thank you, too. Together we have raised almost $80,000. If you have any friends who might also want to donate, please feel free to send them the link to my page also.
If you are unable to donate online, please print out a donation form.
