The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of 3 days. I walked for the first time in Fall 2019, and have wanted to walk again ever since. It was hard, but it's not as hard as breast cancer. It's not as hard as chemo, and it's not as hard as saying goodbye. My family is fortunate to know many breast cancer survivors, including my incredible mom, a survivor of 15 (!!!) years, but we also know people battling cancer right now, and too many families that have lost loved ones. We walk in their memory and honor.
Every step I take is symbolic of our world being one step closer to ending breast cancer forever. This year I am again walking for my family, especially my sister and my brother, and all of the 3-Day family I've come to love. I'm walking for every kid that doesn't get to grow up with their mom or aunt or grandma, loses them too soon, or has to experience scary, quiet days without understanding why. I'm walking for every single one of you, in hopes that it's one less thing that you or your family has to worry about in the future. In order to walk, I need to raise $2300, and I'm asking for your help. Help us end breast cancer, forever.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my fundraising efforts ever since I was a kid on the Michigan Youth Corps, the connections and experiences afforded to me by your support have changed my life.
