1. What is included in the Travel Information?
The Travel Information page gives the participant information about the starting and ending locations for the event, directions to those locations and instructions for how to make hotel reservations (including shuttle service) before, during and after the event.

2. When will I receive the Travel Information?
You can find the Travel Information webpage in your Participant Center, under the Prepare menu at the top of the screen. 

3. How long do I have to make my travel arrangements?
Due to limited availability, please make your travel arrangements as soon as possible. All hotel room packages for the San Diego 3-Day must be booked by 10/17/21, and are available on a first come, first served basis. Hotel rooms and the associated promotional rate are subject to availability of the room block.

4. What is a Host Hotel?
A hotel where we’ve negotiated room blocks for 3-Day participants the nights before, during and immediately after the event. Host hotel rooms and shuttle service are sold by the hotel as a package.

5. How do I get to my Host Hotel?
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the Host Hotel on Thursday.

1. How do I book a room?
Click the link on the Travel Info page to go to the 3-Day hotel reservation website. This site is maintained by the 3-Day’s travel agent, and all reservations must be made through this site in order to get the 3-Day package rate with shuttle service.

2. I am a crew member. Is there a specific hotel that I need to stay in?
No. All Thursday night hotels will have early morning shuttle services for crew members. If you are booking a hotel room only for Thursday night and no other nights, you should select the Hilton Del Mar, since that hotel is closest to the Opening Ceremony location.

3. Where are the Host Hotels located?
Host Hotels are located near the major sites (Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, Camp) for the San Diego 3-Day. For details and reservations, go to the Travel Info page and click the link in the hotel section to go to the 3-Day hotel reservation website. This site is maintained by the 3-Day’s travel agent, and all reservations must be made through this site in order to get the 3-Day package rate with shuttle service.

4. What are my shuttle options?

Friday Shuttle - If you book a room for Thursday night through the 3-Day hotel reservation website, you will receive free shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) from the hotel to the Opening Ceremony on Friday morning. 

Camp Shuttle - Friday and Saturday night hotel reservations booked through the 3-Day hotel reservation website include shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) to and from camp on Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning. 

Sunday Shuttle - Sunday night hotel reservations booked through the 3-Day hotel reservation website include shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) from the Closing Ceremony to the hotel on Sunday evening. 

Shuttle Tickets
Shuttle wristbands and a shuttle schedule will be in your hotel check-in packet, if you booked a hotel through the 3-Day reservation website. There will be no Sunday Shuttle Ticket Tent this year to eliminate lines and face-to-face transactions.

A limited number of wristbands (first come, first served) can be purchased for weekend shuttle access at the host hotels (excluding the Del Mar Hilton) on Thursday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Wristbands can also be purchased Friday/Saturday at the shuttle stop located at camp during shuttle hours. Shuttle hours are 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Wristband costs:

  • Friday Morning only - $20
  • Sunday after Closing Ceremony only - $20
  • All Event Pass (Friday morning, Saturday camp, Sunday Closing) - $55

Shuttle Policies:

  • Host Hotel shuttles are for WALKERS AND CREW ONLY. Shuttles will not transfer friends/family not participating in the 3-Day event to and from event sites.
  • Participants will be responsible for loading/unloading all luggage/gear and personal belongings. Shuttle buses cannot accommodate bicycles.
  • ALL participants on Host Hotel shuttles MUST wear masks at all times while on the shuttle bus.

5. How do I purchase my shuttle tickets?
If you book a room for Thursday night through our travel agent’s reservation website, you will receive free shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) from the hotel to the Opening Ceremony on Friday morning. You will not receive shuttle service if your room is booked separately from the 3-Day hotel reservation website. A portion of the hotel room rate is used for the operational costs of the shuttle service.

Friday and Saturday night hotel reservations booked through the 3-Day hotel reservation website include shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) to and from camp. You will not receive shuttle service if your room is booked separately from the 3-Day hotel reservation website. A portion of the hotel room rate is used for the operational costs of the shuttle service.

Sunday night hotel reservations booked through the 3-Day hotel reservation website include shuttle transportation for all hotel room occupants (4 participants per room maximum) from the Closing Ceremony to the hotel. You will not receive shuttle service if your room is booked separately from the 3-Day hotel reservation website. A portion of the hotel room rate is used for the operational costs of the shuttle service.

6. What if I do not want the shuttle service?
Whether you utilize the shuttle service included in the hotel package is your decision, but all rooms automatically come with the shuttle transportation. There is not a reduced rate for the hotel room if you choose not to use the shuttle.

7. I am not staying at a host hotel, but at another hotel nearby can I still use the shuttle?
A limited number of wristbands (first come, first served) can be purchased for weekend shuttle access at the host hotels (excluding the Del Mar Hilton) on Thursday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Wristbands can also be purchased Friday/Saturday at the shuttle stop located at camp during shuttle hours. Shuttle hours are 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm. These shuttles will go between the 3-Day event sites and the host hotels only. They will not be able to take you to a different hotel.

Wristband costs:

  • Friday Morning only - $20
  • Sunday after Closing Ceremony only - $20
  • All Event Pass (Friday morning, Saturday camp, Sunday Closing) - $55
