NEW YORK WALKERS!  Veteran walker, Burt Lipshie is hosting a Walk & Talk. Meet inside Penn Stations, on the upper, Amtrak level, right in front of TGI Friday's, near the 33rd Street and 8th Avenue exit. Plan to gather by 8:15am for a prompt 8:30am departure. The route will take you west ng 34th Street toward the Hudson River, down the length of the High Line, which is nice and empty early in the morning, then down the Riv to the Seaport, up and over the Brooklyn Bridge, and into Downtown Brooklyn. Your destination is an excellent pizza place on Court Street near Atlantic Avenue. Total mileage to lunch is about 8 1/2 miles. After lunch, those looking to put more miles in their legs will do the return walk to Penn Station, no staying along the River and avoiding the tourist-clogged High Line. Lots of bathroom opportunities and places to get water/Gatorade along the way.

Burt is pretty easily recognized: grey beard, 3-Day t-shirt, 3-Day baseball cap, fanny pack festooned with 3-Day buttons and pink sneakers.  He's a walking billboard!
