Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day? is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Komen 3-Day help fund national research and large public health outreach programs. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs.

You may be wondering why I am walking 60 miles and raising a minimum of $2300 in donations. I am determined to meet this personal challenge because of a very special person. In 2005, my grandmother went in for a routine mammogram. 2 months later, she was doing a self exam and noticed a lump. After making an appointment to see her doctor and having a biopsy done, it was determined that she did indeed have breast cancer. In 2 months, she went from being cancer free to being diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. It was the most terrifying thing that our family has ever had to go through, and I don?t wish this heartache, unknowing and stress on anyone. Luckily she fought it and beat her cancer and now, in 2013, 8 years later, she is still cancer free. This cause is very important to me, and with my determination and your support, I know that I can do this!

Training- Week of 3/24- 3/30
This week wasn't my greatest. Not only was it Spring Break week and my son was out of school, but my boyfriend was out of town for the week, plus we were out of town for 3 days. I did get 2 workouts in this week though so all was not lost.
I am noticing that I am getting a little quicker on how fast I am able to complete so many miles, so I'm seeing progress.
I walked a total of 5.78 miles this week. This next coming week I plan on definitely walking a lot more. So far for this current week, starting on 3/31 and today (Monday), I have already logged 6.15 miles! So I am getting back on track! :) I am hoping to walk between 30-40 miles this week!
