12 years ago, I made a commitment to 'walk the walk' until breast cancer was no more. Unfortunately, it is my walk that is no more. At the end of the 2017 season, the Avon39 was cancelled. I couldn't not do something... there is still a fight to fight. While the Avon39 will always be in my heart, I have refocused my efforts and this September I will be participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-day 60-mile walk in Philadelphia. I continue to walk in honor of my mother, Judy Willens, my friend, Patty Spitzler, in loving memory of Lori Schlussel. And far too many special men and women... fighters, Survivors and angels. Heros all.
If there is someone you would like me to honor, I will proudly add a ribbon with their name to my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer hat. Yes, the hat comes with me.
Please support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality.
