Why I Walk:
My mother survived breast cancer twice. Once at the age of 34 (I was 8yrs.) and again at the age of 43. I count my blessings for having her with me now.
If she can survive this disease twice, suffer through multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and high doses of medications, I believe that walking 60 miles in 3 days will literally be a walk in the park.
I ask nothing of you directly. I am here to create awareness. Mothers, Sisters, Wives, Aunts, Grandmothers, Friends and Co-workers all need to be aware that this is a problem at any age. While men are less likely to develop breast cancer, it is still important to know that it exists. Please visit www.the3day.org to learn more about what you can do.
Should you be interested in joining me in the walk or in donating (no amount is too small), please let me know. I can send you the link to my personal page. I'm trying to raise $3000 for this event. It begins Oct. 4th and ends on Oct. 6th.
Please spread the word.
Thank you for your support - Katrina Zarczynski
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Komen 3-Day help fund national research and large public health outreach programs. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs.
