My Personal Inspirations

Hello, my name is Steve Cotton and my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in November, 2009. My mom has already had surgery and is just entering chemotherapy and likely radiation treatments as a "Stage 2" patient and because of progress in research and treatment over the past years we are all confident in our ability as a family to manage her cancer and hopefully completely eradicate it.

Also, my wife Michelle's Aunt passed away from breast cancer many years ago before so many of the newer advanced treatments made possible by research funding were developed.

My personal inspiration is that this disease is close to home and I am CERTAIN that continued research and work to manage and ultimately eradicate this disease will make millions of womens' lives better and all the people for whom they are the shining star.

My mom always has been and always will be my North Star. As I am sure anyone reading this has women in your lives who are your shining stars...please help!

Of course, we all know - Funding and real significant $ is what counts. I'm trying to plan big and put together a team of walkers and supporters and tie my personal and professional network together (and yours too!) to do something collectively that we can all feel very proud of...and hopeful for the outcome from our collective efforts. However you can help, even some simple words of encouragement - will contribute to this specific goal to help solve the remaining mysteries that is taking away our shining stars before their work is done!
