Help Get Me to San Diego
I began walking the 3 Day in 2010. My first walk was in Chicago. I walked that year in memory of my mom. I lost her to breast cancer in 2004. To say I was bitten by the 3 Day bug, would be an understatement. Since 2010 I have walkd in 14 events, and to end out 2015 I would love to complete my 15th event.
People ask me all the time why do I walk 60 miles over 3 days? The answer is simple. Why not? I am not a doctor, I can not treat cancer patients. I am not a reseacher, I can not find a cure. But I am a mother (to three girls), a wife (to an amazing man), a daughter (who lost both of her parents to cancer), a sister (to an amazing survivor), and a friend (to many wo are battling, surviving, and sadly have been taken by this beast), and the one thing I can do is walk. After we complete 60 miles, do they say SURPRISE? We have a cure! Sadly not yet, but while out there we do raise awareness, raise funds to help with research, and hopefully give hope to those who are dealing with it on a daily basis.
In order to walk I need to raise a minimum of $2,300. I ask you all to consider making a donation. I was blessed to "walk" Seattle in September. It was an AMAZING event (as always), but due to complications from a prophylactic double mastectomy that took place June 1st, I wasn't able to complete all 60 miles. I want one last shot at this in 2015. So will you please help me reach my goal of $2,300?
