In Honor of Linda Troung

Dear Friends and Family,

This year I will be participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk November 20-22. I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. I've agreed to raise at least $2,300 in donations and will be walking in honor of my friend, Linda Troung who lost her fight to an aggressive form of breast cancer.

Linda was a caring and lovable person whose parents had immigrated to the United States to give her and her brother an opportunity for a better life. We worked side-by-side, were close in age and shared many goals. When she succumbed to this disease, it made me realize that breast cancer can affect ANYONE. You can help me reach my fundraising goal in two ways.

1. BUY A RAFFLE TICKET: I have painted a Breast Cancer Walk-inspired image called "Siempre en Mis Pensamientos/Always in My Thoughts" (Acrylic on Canvas, 30x40 inches). I will be raffling off this original painting at the end of my fundraising campaign. For every $5 you donate I will email you a raffle ticket number. A few weeks prior to the walk, we (Cali Girls Team) are planning a final fundraising party. I will pull the winning ticket at this event (you don’t have to be present to win). This is a great opportunity to win a CRISOL original and help a great organization. Party details will be sent closer to the event date.

2. RECYCLE: Simply set aside your recyclable cans and bottles. I will pick them up from you at your convenience and take them to a recycling center. If needed, I can provide you with a box for you to place your recyclables.

Raffle Night @ Romesco's Baja Bistro, Wed. Nov.11, 7-10pm

Hey Everyone!

The 2009 Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk is less than a month away, so I thought I’d give you an update.

There’s still time to get in on the raffle to win “Always in My Thoughts,” an original painting by yours truly.

The raffle will take place Wednesday, November 11 at Romesco’s Baja Bistro in Bonita, California from 7 to 10pm.

That’s two weeks away! Romesco’s is one my favorite places in all of San Diego and I’m thrilled to have the support of owner Tana Plasencia. You don’t need to be present to win, but this event will include great food, music, and other goodies.

If you are planning on coming to the raffle, please send an email to nguerra11@hotmail.com so I can provide a head count.

Romesco's will be offering light appetizers and ALL NIGHT Happy Hour prices on their Tapas dishes and drinks. In addition, San Diego's talented guitarist, Isreal Maldonado will be performing throughout the night.

The painting raffle of "Always in My Thoughts" will be at 8:30pm. Remember, you don't have to be present to win.

You are coming to the event but have not had a chance to donate so you have no raffle tickets? A computer will be available at the event for online donations and your raffle tickets will go directly into tonight's drawing.
