Love Life, Fight Breast Cancer

Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
Help me help others...
I turn 40 this year.. Scary, I know.. Instead of being scared, I decided to become empowered by it.. I know women who have been affected by breast cancer and thought about how powerless I would feel in that position.. Just like turning 40.. No control..
Anyone who knows me knows I don't like that feeling.. Why be powerless??? I don't have to be and no one else does either..
Reading of others who have decided to stand up and say "I'm fighting this" has inspired me to not be powerless in this fight against a deadly disease..
I challenge myself and those who visit here to help me reach my goal and help millions of women AND men in this fight.
WE DEMAND A CURE!!!

No Time For Breast Cancer!!!
Who has time for breast cancer??
Not me.. I've go too full a life for it.. Kayaking, biking, diving, my work as a vet...
I never want to be stopped by something that can have a cure...
I'd much rather give up some time now raising money, walking, riding, what ever it takes to find a cure than to give time to the disease..
Help me and others keep our time for fun, not surgery, chemo, and radiation..

Hey, I'm soooo excited!!! Party preps are coming together finally!!!
I've got T's ordered, experimenting with Jello shots, beads, temporary tattoos, beads, koosies, beads, gifts, and beads coming!!!
Did I say BEADS!!!
I'm a bit excited.. Can ya tell..
I hope a lot of people come.. This is a once in a lifetime event.. Not every day one turns 40...

I made us some T-shirts yesterday for training. I used the logo above and some information on the back about the walk.
If I do say so myself, they look great.. I wore it when I went out last night and got a few dollars just because I was wearing it.. Every bit counts...
Susan, my teammate, is already planning on our tent decorations.. There is a contest for the best decorated tent.. She came up with a wonderful idea, but I'm not gonna spill it quite yet..
Going today after our walk to get good shoes.. I need them..

Well, we decided to start training this week.. It's a little early, but we figured the extra walking now would do us good..
It's still 28 weeks until the big walk, but starting out gradually sounds great to me.
I've created a new team logo, and everyone seems to love it so far.. Go me...
B-day Bash plans are still in the works, but it will be May 1 at TommyKnocker's in Bradenton on US41.. Come on down!!!

Talked to one of my best friends yesterday.. She can't walk this year but is already figuring out a fund raiser a month for my team..
Oh yeah, I almost forgot... Susan, my boss' wife and a friend, has signed up with me.. We're starting a team.. Save the Sweater Puppies!!!
Hubby came up with the name, but I like it..
First event is going to be in conjunction with my 40th birthday.. Already have the venue and ideas are pouring out..
Huge thanks to every one who has donated already.. Please pass on the information to everyone you know... As Sick Puppy told me once, every lil bit helps... And he's right...

I just let people know today that I was joining the 3 day and have already had a wonderful response!!!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support!!!
After I got home today from work and a meeting about a fund raising calendar for the local humane society (in which I will be a "Calendar girl" model) I did a 3 mile power walk to a DVD.. Figured it would get me started on the right track...
Many months to go.. Help me keep going!!!
