way better than I will look after 3 days of walking.

Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

A lot of people already know that this disease robbed me of a grandmother 19 years ago. I don't want anybody else to be able to say that, ever. I have no adult knowledge of what my Nana Kersey was like, but 8 year old me loved her a lot. I like to think she'd be proud of me for doing this to honor her memory.

I came up with reasons not to do this the past few years. This year I didn't. I don't want to sit around and wait for a cure to fall into anybody's lap. I don't want to sit idly by while other people do everything they can, while other people suffer. This is the year I'm going to walk 60 miles, hound everyone I know for donations, forgo pedicures for months on end, kill my feet and go without a flat iron for three days (have you SEEN my hair natural? this is not a joke).

I know in this economy times are tough, but lease give what you can -- your time, your money, your compassion -- and take a stand against breast cancer.

wanna win a raffle?
Okay, so as of right now I'm $510 away from the minimum of $2300 to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. And it's stupid. That is probably the simplest statement I could make about the whole situation, but it's honestly the best I have. I was robbed of a grandmother by this disease (not to split hairs, but I was robbed of four grandparents), I am determined to have something to do with ending it.
So. What can you do?
Well. Free donations are always welcome (duh!), but thanks to the overwhelming generosity of several cosmetics companies I'm putting on a little raffle. Here's what's in it:
A MAC eyeshadow palette filled with 15 eyeshadow pans in whatever colors the winner wants http://www.macpro.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15103&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7780 pro, perm, whatever you want!)
MAC 3D Silver Glitter
MAC's limited edition, sold out Hello Kitty lipstick in Fashion Mews
A MAC Hello Kitty brush cup
3 http://www.sigmamakeup.com Sigma Makeup brush sets (http://www.sigmamakeup.com/products/7015.html the nice in pink travel set, http://www.sigmamakeup.com/products/701.html the professional complete kit, and a third set containing an SS109, SS182 and an SS188
A http://www.coastalscents.com Coastal Scents 88 piece eyeshadow palette

A http://www.calypsomineralbeauty.net Calypso Mineral Beauty Rainbow Stacker
A Love Victoria candle from http://www.candlesbyvictoria.com Candles by Victoria in Pink Sugar (smells SO FREAKING GOOD)
and I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of other companies, but as is, this is over a $600 value.
There are also three second prize sets that include
A MAC quad with 4 eyeshadows of the winners choice,
a Sigma brush set
a Konad stone kit
and more is coming in but I don't want to reveal it before I know for sure what it is!
The second place prizes are all worth over $100!
So here's how I'm doing the raffle. Go to my fundraising website http://www.the3day.org/goto/_kacie click on Donate to Kacie in 2009, fill in the form do your thing. Tickets are $10 each, if you'd like more than one just go with whatever $10 increment you want, and in the box that says Personal note for the participant make a note that you want to enter the raffle.
This (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/kaciegirl/3day/DSC02986.jpg) is everything that I've received so far for the raffle. I'm still waiting on the Coastal Scents palette and Calypso Mineral Rainbow Stacker but they're both in the mail!
Please please consider entering, it would mean the world to me for you to help me get to my goal!
xoxo, Kacie
