Healthy Hooters now has two additional team members besides myself. First was Sally Harrell of the Dallas, TX area, and the second was Denise York of Coffeyville! WOO HOO! The team is coming together nicely! But, more would AMAZING! Don't dismiss participating with us altogether. Really give it some thought. Guys are also encouraged to participate! It's not just a girl thing! LOL! Tom has already said no, for those of you who are wondering! ;)

I just wanted to share that today an article came out in the Coffeyville Journal regarding my participation in the 3-Day!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will help me spread awareness about this event and cause, in hopes that I will gain more team members, have more people to participate with me on the training walks, and, of course, generate donations so that I make the minimum amount of dollars raised in order to participate in the event! I remain optimistic that it will all fall into place!

I just wanted to share with you all that I did an interview at the Coffeyville Journal today regarding the 3-Day Cancer Walk!
It should appear in the Sunday paper, for those of you who subscribe.
I don't know what the article will be like in the end, but I am excited at the opportunity to generate some interest in this cause!
It would be awesome if this helped me to gain additional team members!

I recieved my first donation today for the Cancer Walk!!! CELEBRATE!!!! Mike and Cathy Reeves, thank you for being the first to donate to this cause that I am so passionate about!
I keep telling everyone, I don't know how I will raise the minimum required to participate in the Walk, but I firmly believe that if I put forth the hard work, prepare myself through physical training for this event, pray and keep the faith, things will all fall into place!
If anyone has any fund-raising suggestions, email them to me! I've got a few I'm pondering, but I'm always open to ideas!
Thank you, Mike and Cathy, for your generosity! God Bless you!

Well, it's officical! We now have a team name, thanks to Sally!!! So, for those of you who were wanting to register under my team, there is now a box to click on to do just that! I know some of you have expressed interest, but became discouraged when you found out you had to raise a minimum of $2300 to participate in the walk itself. I just wanted to share with you all, that I am still not sure HOW, exactly, I myself am going to raise the funds, but the website is full of ideas on how to do it. And, I personally believe that if I make the commitment to TRY to raise the funds as well as TRAIN my body to be physcially prepared for this challenge, and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY...the Good Lord is going to be with me every step of the way! It WILL happen. I have FAITH, and I am FEARLESS! So give it some thought and prayer before you completely decide against participating....

I woke up and read an email from Sally letting me know that she has a friend who is going to be on our 3-DAY team!!! WOO HOO! We are now a team of three! I don't know what the future holds, rather or not others will be moved to join us...the important thing is, our journey has already begun!

So, I was so pumped the night I registered for this AMAZING event! I emailed all of my family and friends...I just couldn't wait to share the exciting news!!!
Then I woke up the next day thinking..."Oh no...What have I DONE?"!!!!!!
That only lasted about five seconds, and then the excitement hit me again! HA HA! I am already doing quite a bit of visualization about how the days will pass, all of the possible "bumps" along the road during the 3-Day...like muscle soreness, blisters on my feet, etc. But, you know, I'm no stranger to muscle fatigue, pusing myself to physical exhaustion from time to time. And I've had my share of blisters, let me tell ya! Of course, the last time I had blisters on my feet was due to wearing the WRONG sandals to sightsee on the Vegas Strip a few years back! HA HA!
I had the most AMAZING email waiting on me when I woke up this morning! It was from a gal I've known since we were young girls playing softball and she was on the DREADED, HATED "Roller Dome" team...and I was on the pathetic, wimpy "Keebler" team! HA HA! My long-time friend, Sally (who now lives in the Dallas area), was also wanting to participate in this event even before she received my email telling her I was planning to! She called me her ANGEL! Isn't it so funny now things work out? God is good! He's given me a 3-Day partner ALREADY!
Here closer to home, I have had a friend, gym buddy, cooking buddy, fellow RN, Tiffany, who isn't going to actually participate in the 3-Day, but has volunteered to train with me! How convenient, as she lives just caddy-corner from my house! Again...God is good! Already providing me with the support and encouragement I am going to need throughout this entire process!
Thanks to everyone who's checked out my page so far! Your encouragement means so much!
Big hugs!
Ang
