The Breast Cancer 3-Day

Please support me as I take for the second time an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer!

I'm walking 60 miles in the name of Tita, my Mom, who is a cancer survivor and for all the cancer survivors out there...the ones today and for all of us that will survive breast cancer tomorrow....

This Breast Cancer event is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

Wish me luck on the training!!!

I did this 3Day Cancer walk in May 2002, I was few years younger and few pounds lighter-:).....and that time I started training 6 months prior to the walk.......this time on the other hand I only have 15 weeks to get ready.

I started training this weekend on walking 3 miles on Saturday 4/11 and 3 Miles on Easter Sunday 4/12....I know it wont be easy, my legs hurt...but in looking at the big picture my pain is nothing compared with what breast cancer victims go through.....

Countdown: 2 Weeks!!!!!!!!
Only two weeks left until the walk....WOW the last 12 weeks went by really fast!....Raul and i did the first 10mile walk last week and i'm not going to lie to you..I was tough-:(
I would like to do a couple of 10miles training walks again so i guess we all know what Raul and I will be doing this weekend.......WALKING!!
Thank you so much to all the people that has donated and supported me, this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart....so THANK YOU for all the lifes you just helped save...

This weekend was tough!
I walked 4.7 miles on Saturday and I'm not sure how many miles this morning but at least 6 miles....all I know is that we walked for 2 hours around town.
I found a group in my town that is doing the 3Day walk in July and I joined them to do all the long training walks on the weekends.....
Next week I need to do 3 miles per day during the week and then long 6-8 miles on Sat and Sun.......I need LOTS of Tylenol-:)
13 weeks to go....

One week of training down....14 more to go!
My lovely husband has committed to do all the training with me...we got up 4 times this week at 5am....can you believe it?? yeah we got up at 5am and walked 3 miles each morning...I thought it was going to get easier with time but it is still very hard to get up in the morning-:(
I already recieved an email from my personal virtual trainer with my schedule for next week...check it out..

Monday Rest
Tuesday 3 miles Easy walking
Wednesday 15 minutes Moderate cross-training
Thursday 5 miles Moderate walking
Friday 30 minutes Easy cross-training
Saturday 7 miles Easy walking
Sunday 6 miles Easy walking
Saturday and Sunday look like is going to be fun-:).......I'll keep you posted!
