Our Story

Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

Well now that you know what the 3 day is let me tell you a little bit about my team! We are a mother/daughter team and we call our selves the HeadLight Honey's! I am the captain of our crew and my name is Brandy Campbell and my moms name is Debra Ashley! Our modo is We walk in a PACK, to save the RACK!!!

Breast Cancer and trying to find a cure is very inportant to us considering it runs in our family and my mother is a breast cancer survivor, and so for you to get to know us and little better and understand why this walk and raising money for a cure is so importiant to us.

My mom like I mentioned above has had breast cancer and when we all found out we never could have dreamed what all she would have to endure and go thruogh, but my mom is a fighter and though that and prayer is why she is still with us today. She had a really hard fight after her chemo treatments, she became very sick and very weak, because of bodys weakness and not being able to fight off bacteria and infections, she got staff infection and went in to septic shock, and not only that the medie port in which they put in her to give the treatments through got infected, she got so bad she ended up in icu for 2 weeks and then not only could she not breathe on her own but her body was fighting against her and was shutting down, I remember the doctors coming and telling us that she wasnt going to make it, but through prayer, prayer and more prayer she pulled through and her body started working again and she started breathing on her own and I believe its a true miracle of God and if you dont believe that prayer works I am here to tell you it does and I think without us praying she wouldnt be with us. Well even tho she started getting better she wasnt out of the woods yet, she remained in the hospital for 2 more months. She has now been in remission for 5 years and we thank the Lord everyday for her being alive. My mom is the best person you will ever meet and will do anything for any body and now has more life, energy and reason to embrace life than she ever did and believe me she is like the energizer bunnie she just keeps going and going.

I am so happy that my mom is joining me on this walk I dont know what I would do with out her she is my rock, my best friend and my hero. I think anyone who has to go through what she did and endure all that she had to is a hero in my eyes!!! so I want to thank God 1st of all not for only saving my mom but for giving us this opportunity to help raise money and walk in this event to help find a cure and save lives, I want to thank all the other walkers, teams, crew members and coaches for helping and being there and making a difference and I want to thank the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust for making this all possible and working so hard to make this horrible disease non-existent, and I want to think all the donators because without yall this walk for a cure would not even be, so thank you all for everything that you do!!!!
