Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
This year will be my 11th year walking and San Diego 2023 will be my 32nd 3-Day event. I was on the crew supporting the walkers for a 3-Day® walk in San Francisco and I have walked the 60 miles in all of the others.
Please help me reach my 2023 fundraising goal of $20,000.00 as the fight against breast cancer is so important to me and my family.(I signed up for all of the 3-Day/60mile walks coming up this year across the country, and I need a minimum of $2300 for each one.)
As many people know, my incredible wife Karen lost her fight against breast cancer on December 29, 2017. She always showed incredible courage and strength and a "never-give-up, I-can-beat-this" attitude and spirit. We must never give up, we must continue to fight this evil beast; I will NEVER give up. I have seen the way cancer tears at a family and I am walking so that others do not have to live through the nightmare that my family has been through. I know how horrible it is.
Karen's first cancer diagnosis was in 2003 so believe me when I say that we have seen the improvements in treatments as the years went on, and those improvements continue coming year after year. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has made much of that possible with the grants they have provided, and I am SO grateful for the extra years that my family had with Karen because of those grants.
I have seen both how hard Karen fought and her incredible attitude. I have seen what happens to a family when cancer strikes. We know other people and are now a family that the research did not get here soon enough for. Please Donate Today so others do not have to live through what my family has. Thank you for your support!
