I am seeking your support as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day. This is a 60-mile walk in Dallas Texas over the course of 3-days Oct 27-29th.
I walked this event in Tampa in 2008 too and it is hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo/radiation. It’s not as hard as getting unexpected and tough news..."you have breast cancer". It’s certainly not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money. I do this for those who are currently fighting, those who are survivors, and for those loved ones who have gained their Angel wings like my sweet sister-on-law Sue.
Last year on Oct 22nd as my friends Jenny, Leigh and me were finishing the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk, I was called and given the news Sue had passed. She was a fierce fighter and fought breast cancer as hard as she could. So I still fight. And, although I chose to make my journey a private one when I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago, I want to publicly share that by God’s Grace I am a survivor! I also have a daughter...and I pray she never has to worry about breast cancer...so I walk for a cure...for her future and for all or our children's and their children's futures
So much good has come from my walk in this journey! Therefore, I hope all of you will join me, Jenny and Leigh in our journey together through this 60 Mile 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. The awareness and support is so important for the continued research for advancement in treatment and in helping so many.
Thank you and I send strength and prayers to all of you who have fought a similar fight for yourselves or for a loved one.
