In 2016 my good friend, Juli, had just reached her 5 year survival date from her breast cancer diagnosis when she asked me to join her in a celebration. I had walked beside her while she underwent the biopsy and treatment. Now, she wanted to celebrate by walking in the Susan G Komen 3-Day Event to help raise monies for breast cancer research so that other men and women could have their 5 year survival celebration. So, in 2017, Juli and I walked 20 miles a day for 3 days celebrating her life which allowed her to pay it forward to others. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done. But not for Juli… the hardest thing she had ever done was survive breast cancer.
We all know and love someone in our circle of life that has had or is currently battling breast cancer or some other form of cancer. My friend Juli is now a 10 year survivor and I am grateful to have her in my life. In November 2022, I am again walking 60 miles in the Komen 3-Day to raise money for this important cause. Together- with my walking and your donation- we can both contribute to the bold goal of a future free of cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
With much gratitude-
