In Oct 2009 I got the call that my sister in law had breast cancer. I had just done the Susan G Komen Race for a cure as a way for myself to get in shape and now I was fighting for her.
In 2010 I walked my first 3 day 60 mile walk. At lunch on Day 3 I was told I was injured and could not finish. That broke me, to know my sister in law had no option but to finish her treatment or risk her life and here I was stopped by a simple fracture in my foot. This walk is NOT EASY.
In the years to follow I have finished the rest of the many walks I did in her honor. BUT Have also lost friends to this horrible Cancer in the years that I continued to fight.
I can not begin to tell you the amazing community that is the 3 day AND the amazing work that the Susan G Komen foundation does to find a cure. I 100% Believe that in order to cure all cancers we must start somewhere and this is where I choose to start.
PLEASE help me to get to Boston and support this amazing cause.
PS....MY AMAZING SISTSER IN LAW IS A SURVIVOR after all these years and an AMAZING WOMEN. Love you Trish!!
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
