This year I decided to challenge myself by walking 20 miles - a portion of the New England Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. My friend Nancy Schulman has been walking for 15 years. She encourages her friends to participate, and this year I said YES. I'm on Nancy’s team - The White Butterflies.
Our family, like many families, has been touched by breast cancer. My sister-in-law Shari (Alan's sister) is a survivor of 13 years. Shari feels fortunate and thankful to have conquered this terrible disease. Sadly, not all women have such positive outcomes, which is why I’m participating in this important fundraising event.
The Komen Foundation’s mission is "to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.”
My personal goal was to raise $750.00, but thanks to so many of you I was able to surpass my goal. I asked Nancy if I would have to stop, but she laughed and said that I can always raise more money. I would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating to this important cause. A link to my fundraising page is below.
