For as long as I can remember, I've been supporting my mom as she walked (or crewed) the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Now it's my turn.
This summer, instead of donning one of my favorite yellow shirts and cheering from the sideline, I'm going to be among those walking 60 miles over the course of three days. That weekend may be full of sore muscles and aching feet, but all of it will be worth it. Because every step I take will be one step closer to a world without breast cancer.
And now, that's even more important to me. I always used to say that I participated in the 3-Day for the future of everyone I knew and loved. In the past year, that future has become the present. I still will walk for the future, but now I walk for my Aunt Kathie, among others, as well.
So, I'm asking for your support. For me, as I take on this challenge. And for the present and future of your loved ones, as well as mine. Every penny makes a difference.
