Welcome to my personal page.
I started walking in 2006 at the invitation of my daughter-in-law. I’m forever grateful that she reached out to me because, for me, it wasn’t a one and done. I’ve walked almost every year, with 2 exceptions. Covid brought the entire event to a screeching haunt and there was 1 year I was the Coach for the Boston event. That was so much work but so exciting to interact with all the walkers, crew, and staff. Full plate, happy lady.
I’m walking again this year, twice….New England in August and Chicago in October. People have asked my if I had breast cancer because of my passionate involvement with Susan G. Komen but my answer is always the same…thankfully…no. I’m doing it because I can. I’m doing it to support so many who can’t walk. I’m doing it because people I love have passed away from this beast. I’m doing it because it fulfills me to know that I’m helping others.
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
