In 2005 I lost my mother to cancer…. Breast cancer was the catalyst for her death. Five years after her death, I made the decision to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day as a tribute to her. I then completed the walk 3 more times before my, at the time, 16-year-old daughter asked me to walk with her. What a privilege to share this with my teenage daughter. We laced up our shoes and took the journey together to walk 60 miles in 3 days. My daughter came to me this year, as a member of the US Navy, and asked me to walk again with her. I am thrilled to share this with her to celebrate 3 incredible women in my life. My mom who I lost to cancer, my wife who had her own scare, but ended in a positive outcome, and my daughter who I hope lives in a world that will know cures for this disease. This is something I can do ……. join me, won’t you? Your donation to our walk will make a difference.
Thank you,
Mark Pacheco
