It's hard to believe that November 3rd marks the 25 year anniversary of my mom's lost battle to breast cancer. Her life was spent giving back to others in everything she did. I know her legacy lives on; in the lives of Kim and I, the lives of the grandchildren she never met, and in the lives of family and friends and even strangers who were touched by her kindness.
When I recently turned 43 it was a tough year for me. My mom was 43 when she was diagnosed and 48 when she passed. I mourned FOR her; as a mom and as a wife with so much life ahead of her. She was a fighter, and she fought and loved and gave to others until her very last day on earth. How blessed I am to have known her and even more blessed to have been her daughter.
It is no coincidence that the 60 mile 3 day Breast Cancer walk in Dallas falls on her 25 year anniversary of being in heaven. Jon David and I will spend this anniversary walking in memory and celebration of her life. We both need to raise $2300 in order to participate. We ask that you consider supporting and or praying for us. What a wonderful way to honor her life by giving back to help find a cure and to support families who are faced with fighting breast cancer.
