Please support my team members as we commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 20 mile 1 day walk will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. I'm lucky that my screening mammogram detected cancer at the earliest invasive stage. I'm lucky that my margins and lymph nodes were clear and my tumor testing showed that I will not need chemo. I'm lucky that I avoided radiation with a double mastectomy. I'm walking for my family, my friends and as a genetic counselor, I'm walking for the hundreds of patients who I've worked with over the last 22+ years. Most of all, I'm walking as a cancer survivor to show cancer that I won and to make something good from my experience. I'm committing to training for a 20 mile walk for me. I know I have to do this. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I created a team of walkers to raise money – to end breast cancer forever.
