Pink has always been my favorite color. I have always been a HUGE advocate to all my friends to stay current with their mammograms and self breast exams. And then in January 2018 I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive ductal carcinoma. Thank God I was stage 1 and the cancer was caught early. I had 10 rounds of internal radiation over 5 days. No chemotherapy was needed.
The last few years have been a trial for sure. I had three surgeries in 14 months. I am now at the level of my "new normal". Some days I feel great, some days I don't feel good, no rhyme or reason. I get scans every six months. I can't wait until I reach my 5-year mark to say I am officially CANCER FREE! Check out my blog at www.pinkpower.blog and follow my journey!
As an advocate for breast cancer awareness, I will participate in my first 3-Day walk. Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Get your yearly mammogram and request an ultrasound as well! Make sure you do your self exams! 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed. Let's fight to end this statistic!
Thank you in advance!
