Hello Family & Friends,
I am putting on my sneakers again and walking in my 5th 60-mile Breast Cancer 3-day walk. This time in New England!
If you have known me for a while, you know how much all cancer causes mean to me. Everyone who participates has their own reasons why they walk. I walk to support my family & friends, who are cancer survivors (including my son who is a 2x survivor), and to remember & honor the loved ones who have lost their brave battle against cancer. I walk for my family and all of my friends and co-workers in hopes that these people and others will never be affected by breast cancer or any other cancer.
I walk because I can...I walk because I cannot walk away from finding a cure ... (I truly believe if a cure can be found for one cancer then we can find a cure for ALL cancers) … I walk because everyone deserves a lifetime!
This year our captain of “Team Las Bombas” Jacki who is also a survivor will be walking in her last 3-day walk. She has been walking in search for a cure since “2006”. This will also be the final walk for many of the others on our team. When she asked me to walk with her & the team one more time I didn’t think twice. My heart said I had to say yes!
The 3-Day walk takes commitment. I am committed to the preparation. I will walk over 500 miles in training before the event. Walking the 60 miles has always been the easiest part for me.
The challenge is asking for your continued support to raise $2300, which is a condition of participation. My goal is $3000 or more if possible. The more funds that are raised, the sooner we can end this fight. The monies we raise funds breast cancer research, education, and community outreach programs. I understand these are difficult economic times; however, the consequences of cancer continue despite the slowing economy.
I would like to reach my goal amount by my birthday of June 4th if possible in order to secure my spot in the walk.
Please consider making a tax deductible donation to support my fundraising efforts as I take another amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer!
This disease touches so many lives. Let's put a stop to it. . . for you, your family, and friends. Together we will make a difference.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
