Please support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer.
For the past 11 years, I have participated in the Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer, a 39.3 mile walk in cities including Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco. Over that time, my amazing team and I raised nearly $500,000 to provide grants to cancer research and funds to underserved communities to help diagnose, treat, and support those with Breast Cancer. Avon discontinued its walks but Team Joyce is not giving up. We want to continue to wage war against breast cancer and make sure we are diagnosing early, treating aggressively and supporting those who have heard the devastating words, "you have cancer".
This year, we are lacing up our sneakers to walk in the Susan Koman 3 Day in the Twin Cities in August. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality. I am a breast cancer survivor...I am one of the lucky ones. I was diagnosed early and was treated aggressively and have remained cancer free for 11 years. My friends have not all been so lucky. And my teammates each have their own stories.
What's your story? Will you share your story with me? I would love to carry your name or the memory of your loved one with me as I walk. Please join me--by walking, by contributing, or simply by sharing your story so we can raise awareness as we raise funds.
