Please support me as I, once again, take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. For the 10th Year, I will be participating in The Susan G Komen 3-Day - this year will find me in The Twin Cities of Minnesota!. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality.
Why do I keep doing this? Well, I am not a cancer survivor (Thank you Dear God!). No one in my immediate family has been through breast cancer (Thank you again!). I have not lost any relatives to cancer (to my knowledge) (A Third Thank you). But so many many people have gotten that diagnosis, fought, many have won the battle, many have not. These are the ones I am walking for - them and the people who stood with them and were left behind. The survivors and supporters. I am walking for a better future for everyone. Hoping and praying that a diagnosis of cancer, any cancer, will be no more scary than a diagnosis of a bad cold. This is why I keep walking and raising money.
I have pledged to raise at least $2300 this year. This is the minimum I need to be able to have the honor of walking in my 10th 3-Day Walk. However, if I can raise about $5400, it will bring my 10 year total fundraising to an amazing $50,000! This is my goal this year! I hope that you will find it in your heart to help me achieve this.
I do not expect to raise this only by donations from wonderful people like you, I work on it year around with the help of my wonderful husband Jerry. Together, we participate in community festivals, fairs, craft shows and bazaars selling all kinds of breast cancer awareness items - the profits from our sales are donated 100% to the 3-Day. We have a wide variety of items - jewelry (bracelets, pins, necklaces), key chains, hats, T-Shirts (Fight Like a Girl, Save Second Base, Save the Ta-Ta's, Find the Purr-Fect Cure, Dog-Gone it Find a Cure), and many more. We go to about 20 events each year, raising money and awareness, meeting supporters, fighters, and survivors. And never cease to be amazed and inspired by the people we meet and stories we hear. If you see a booth called "Kathy's Pink Goal" that's us. You can also find us on Facebook or go to our website www.kathyspinkgoal.com to see where we will be. I try to keep it updated with our schedule and the fundraising progress.
In closing, I hope you will find a way to help this cause, make a donation, or even consider walking with me.
