I HATE breast cancer. I lost my grandmother to this hideous disease when I was very young. This disease stole her away from me and robbed me of many years and memories with her. Because of this I have made it my mission to do whatever I can to save lives. Every 19 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone is diagnosed with breast cancer – a sobering statistic. I am asking for your help in this fight to save lives.
I have committed myself to walk 60 miles in 3 days and have agreed to raise a minimum of $2,300 to help fight breast cancer. This will be my FIFTH 3-day, and I will not stop walking until we find a cure. I will be walking in September in Seattle!
I walk in memory of my grandmother, Barbara Appleton and also in honor of my grandmother, Barbara Linthicum who is a survivor! As well as many other women in my life affected by this disease. Support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer.
I walk for my mom, my sister, my grandmother, my step-mother, my daughter, my friends, my co-workers, my aunts, and all of those out there fighting right now. My daughter deserves to live in a future without this horrible disease.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality.
