I started this walk in 2016 as a personal goal to walk 60 miles while also doing some good. After my first 10 minutes in the opening ceremony, standing around the Seattle Space Needle lit up in pink, I realized this was so much bigger than myself and my goals.
Since then I completed ANOTHER walk and raised another $2300 to help end cancer. I signed up for the 2018 walk the very next day with ice on my knee and blisters needing lanced. This is no longer for me...it's for all my girlfriends, sisters, co-workers and grocery store check-out ladies. It's for my friend's mom who fought and won this year, it's for the others who didn't. You see, this is just one more step to ending this horrible disease. I truly believe that if we knock out one cancer, the rest will fall.
What's great about this particular fundraiser is that the majority of it will stay in the Pacific Northwest for services provided directly to OUR community. Breast screening to low income women, rides to chemo and radiation, support groups... then the rest goes to finding a cure. A real, tangible cure.
If you can find a spot in your budget, big or small, please sponsor me. Every single dollar really does help.
