I'm back to WALK this year!! I took a couple years off from walking, but not from the Susan G Komen 3-Day journey. Though we did not walk, we "WALKER STALKED!" Which means we were out on the route Saturday and Sunday rooting on our Walkers, passing out treats, high fives, & hugs for their passion to walk and make a difference. My first 2 years of walking, I loved the Walker Stalkers, they would dress up their vehicles in bras, play really great music, hand out goodies, and praise us for what we were doing. If you haven't heard my story, back in 2010 I registered to walk as a challenge to myself because it was my 3rd year my husband and I had quit smoking. I started the training walks in Federal Way where I met some great ladies and we are still friends and walk together to this day. In July 2012 we lost my Dad after a 2 1/2 yr. sickness battle, then my Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer December 2012. So this walk then became personal. Though she went through radiation which was not easy for her, it got harder and harder after awhile. But I am happy to say, she is a Survivor going on 6 yrs so this year I am back as a walker - woohoo! So please support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality. How GREAT would that be!
