The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality.
In 2009 I laced up my shoes and started walking. I haven't stopped. Each year I wonder if it will be my last year to participate in the 3-Day and each year I surprise myself by answering "YES"! Over the course of these past 9 years I have worn out many pairs of shoes, had many sore muscles and sweat more than I care to recall. Over the same timeframe I have made many new friends, supported family and friends who were diagnosed with breast cancer and because of your generosity raised almost $60,000.
I am excited to be heading to Seattle this year. I know the course will be challenging because of the hills and soggy weather, but I can't wait for the scenery and to connect with fellow walkers from other cities.
Will you help me achieve my goal again this year? I can't do this without you.
