I made a promise to my friend Abbey that I would continue to help raise awareness, help warriors in their battle and help fund a cure for this horrible disease. Abbey taught us quite a bit during her battle. Lessons we wouldn't come to understand for awhile. She taught me how to prepare and battle the beast, and she taught my teammate how to help her husband as he battled esophageal cancer. We all have learned, cried, grieved, and laughed (believe it or not) through this process.
Too many women and men don’t get the breast cancer treatment they need because of financial hardship. That’s where the Komen Treatment Assistance Program comes in. It helps those facing financial challenges by providing limited financial assistance, education and support services to low-income, underinsured or uninsured women and men undergoing treatment for breast cancer across the country.
Susan G. Komen® is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the federal government while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen has set a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S. by 2026.
Since its founding in 1982, Komen has funded more than $920 million in research and provided more than $2 billion in funding to screening, education, treatment and psychosocial support programs serving millions of people in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Thank you for helping me keep my promise to Abbey!
