I'm so sorry to tell you this, but you have breast cancer.
That sentence completely changed my life at 2:15pm on a Thursday in December. I was only 36 years old and had two little kiddos age 2 and age 4.....I had no family history so how did I have breast cancer? Fast forward 6 months after I had a bilateral mastectomy and was in the middle of reconstruction I heard the words again from my sister. My little sister who was only 32 years old also had breast cancer.....it's just not possible.
Well, my friends, it is possible and it happens every day. I'm walking for the 4th time with my team based out of San Diego, CA called Team Michelle. I am proud to walk as a survivor, I'm proud to walk for those who cannot and I'm determined to walk so my daughter and my son never have to hear that they have breast cancer. With your help and support we can and will make a difference. I will walk 60 MILES in 3 short days to end this horrible disease.
If you would please support me as I take on an incredible challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. Any donation amount is welcome and there is no amount too small. If you are financially unable to donate please consider praying for our team. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality.
