Hello Friends & Family,
I know I'm crazy, but I'm walking again! I can't help it, there is still no cure for breast cancer. This is my 8th and final walk with Susan G Komen. Stay tuned for my plans for 2019! I am very proud of the money I have raised, but I can't stop there. Two hundred thousand women and men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Forty thousand will not survive. One in eight women will be diagnosed with cancer in their life time. Your donation can help find a cure. Your donation could help a loved one survive. Find a cure for one, find a cure for them all!
I have committed to walk 60 miles in three days to support the fight against breast cancer and all cancers. I am so sick of cancer and having friends and family that have to hear those terrible words, "you have cancer." As I train and walk each year, I pray that all those we know and love that are battling cancer know just how important they are and to keep fighting! My team and I truly believe that if we find a cure to breast cancer, the others cannot be far behind. This walk is for my children, my husband, my mom, my dad, my sisters, nieces, sisters-in law, aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers. Because I love you all, I have chosen to do my part. This year i am walking in celebration of two beautiful women who fought breast cancer head on and never gave up! Melissa and Liliana, you are both courageous and we are all amazed by your strength and beauty within. I dedicate this years walk to Duncan, who for the 2nd time is battling B Cell Lymphoma. I am amazed by his courage to fight and his bravery to allow doctors to use trial treatments. Not only does this help him, he is selflessly helping those that follow behind him with the same diagnosis. You got this Dunc, NEVER GIVE UP!
"Nothing is Impossible, the word itself says I'm Possible." ~Audrey Hepburn
The walk will be very challenging for me, as I am not getting any younger and feel the aches of training more each year. I have nearly reached my goal of $2,300. Please donate if you can, and if you can't, keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Please take this opportunity to support me and advocate for the health of women and men that are important to you and have touched your life. I'll be thinking of you every step of the way as I train and walk in the San Diego heat in November.
Thanks again for your support this year and every year. I have no words to express my gratitude.
