This year I am taking a bold step and have registered for two Susan G. Komen 3-Day events. I will be a crew member for the Atlanta 3-Day October 12-14 and a walker in the San Diego 3-Day November 16-18. I have had such wonderful experiences each year I have participated in the Atlanta 3-Day but each year I hear walkers talking about the events in other cities and the amazing experiences they have had. My friend, Patsy Carey, and I decided to join her daughter, Janelle, and her team, Sole Sisters and the Mister, in the walk in San Diego. I am so excited to be able to still experience the Atlanta walk as a crew member but also to be able to experience the walk in a different city as a walker.
Please support me as I take on this challenge to make an impact in the fight to end breast cancer. As a walker I have to raise $2.300 to participate.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® isn’t just a 60-mile walk over the course of three days—it’s a journey to the end of breast cancer. In 2016, Komen announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. That’s why I’m walking, and raising money—to make that goal a reality. Since Susan G. Komen started the walks in 2003 it has had more than 500,000 participants, raised more than $820,000,000 and helped support 250 research projects an 460 clinical trials. I think that's amazing and am so excited to be a part of it.
